Barbara J Byce

STOW – Barbara J. Byce, 84, passed away on June 14, 2026.

Born in Hibbing, Minnesota, Barbara later made Stow, Ohio her home, where she built a life centered on family, and later her faith. A dedicated nurse throughout her career, she spent many years compassionately caring for those in need until her retirement.

Barbara, affectionately known to those as Jean, enjoyed going to St. Stephen’s Lutheran church and embraced life with energy and enthusiasm. She enjoyed staying active, whether golfing with friends or exercising at the natatorium. An excellent cook and baker, she found joy in preparing meals and creating lasting memories around the table. Barbara also loved to travel, exploring new places and experiences. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family, who were the center of her world.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Katherine Marana. Barbara leaves behind her beloved sons, Kevin Byce and Neil Byce (Amber); grandchildren, Landry and Sawyer Byce; and siblings, Alberta Marana (Michael) and Douglas Marana.

Pastor John Corsi will conduct a memorial service on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 3725 Kent Road, Stow, Ohio 44224.
