Obituary

CUYAHOGA FALLS – Barbara J. Young-Campisi, 84, passed away on June 2, 2026.

Born in Cleveland, Barbara made her home in Cuyahoga Falls for over 25 years. She dedicated her professional life as an executive administrator with several large organizations in the greater Cleveland area, retiring in 2004. She attended Holy Family Catholic Church.

Barbara will be remembered most for her boundless compassion and extraordinary love for animals. She devoted herself to caring for dogs, cats, horses, and birds—both domestic and wild—finding joy in nurturing and protecting all creatures. Over the years, she opened her home and her heart to many rescued dogs, giving them comfort, safety, and unconditional love. Her kindness toward animals was a defining part of who she was and a legacy that will live on in the many lives she touched.

In addition to her love of animals, Barbara found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed tending to her gardens and planting flowers each spring, creating beauty wherever she lived. She loved bowling, classic cars, and traveling, with Arizona holding a special place in her heart. Always curious and adventurous, she also enjoyed exploring caves and caverns.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, E. William and Evelyn Arndt. She is survived by her loving husband, Tony Campisi; daughter, Laura (Thomas) Kmecik; grandchildren, Chuck Richards Jr and Nicole (Jay) Karpinski; great-granddaughter, Ashton Mae Richards and many close friends.

Fr. Paul Rosing will conduct a service at 4 PM on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, OH 44224. Friends may call from 2 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Portage Animal Protective League, 8122 Infirmary Road, Ravenna, OH 44266, in honor of Barbara’s lifelong dedication to the care and rescue of animals.
