MUNROE FALLS – Bonnie (Bernadine) E. Houck, 85, passed away on August 3, 2026.
Born on June 24, 1941, in Cherry Tree, Pennsylvania and raised in Carrolltown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Matilda Morchesky. Bonnie made Munroe Falls her home beginning in 1968 and worked as an interior designer for more than 25 years before retiring in 2014 from Love Furniture in Tallmadge, OH.
Bonnie lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. A longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church, she shared her love of singing as the longest-serving member of the church choir for 58 years. She also valued the fellowship of Bible study at Riverwood Chapel and was a member of the Munroe Falls Garden Club and TOPS Club.
She found happiness in gardening, flowers, cooking, singing, square dancing, and interior design. Bonnie loved making people laugh and was known as one of the best joke tellers in her community. Her generous heart was especially evident in her cooking service at Gennesaret, Inc. in Akron, Ohio, where she donated her time to prepare meals for people in need. Bonnie gave her time and talents freely, bringing comfort, kindness, laughter, and encouragement wherever they were needed.
Above all, Bonnie treasured her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished grandmother, and was delighted to be a great-grandmother. Her warmth, faith, and compassion will remain a lasting gift to everyone who knew and loved her.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Morchesky; her nephew, David Morchesky; and her nieces, Cindy Brookman and Traci Morchesky. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Paul J. Houck, 87; her daughters, Roxanne (Gary) Toth and Janine (Hasan Barakat) Houck; her son, Kenneth (Lura) Houck; her sister, Deborah Jansure; her brother, Kenneth Morchesky; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM, Monday August 10, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Road, Stow, Ohio 44224. Friends may call from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM Monday at Redmon Funeral Home 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, OH 44224.
Memorial contributions: Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Munroe Falls Fire Department, 43 Munroe Falls Ave, Munroe Falls, OH 44262.
