Bertha (Bertie) Davis, 98, loving mother, grandmother, and aunt, passed away on Thursday, July 8 2026.

Bertie loved her books, pets, flowers and her family.

Bertie was born in Akron, the last of 7 children, to Harold and Nellie Calaway, on May 15, 1928. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, daughter Beth Farinacci and son, Michael Davis.

Bertie and Dale met at Polskys in downtown Akron where they both worked. After Dale did a tour of duty in the Army, they married in 1948.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Meyers (Doug), and Dianna Dunlap (Bob) and many precious grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Summit County, 752 W. Portage Trail, Akron, Ohio 44313.

Friends and family may call Tuesday, July 14, 2026 from 10-11AM at Redmon Funeral Home 3633 Darrow Rd, Stow OH 44224. Followed by a graveside service at Stow Cemetery 3162 Kent Rd, Stow OH 44224.
