Obituary of Betty L. Edwards

Betty L. Edwards, nee Ringwalt, 86, died on September 8, 2017. Betty, a long time Hudson resident, is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert; daughters Ellen (Anthony) Biancaniello and Cindy (Dennis) Martineau; and grandchildren Mitra (Barry) Rothman, Megan Martineau, and Drew Martineau. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, Richard Edwards and Roger (Ann) Edwards, and sister-in-law, Nancy Bracht. She was predeceased by her brother, Andy Ringwalt.

Born in Coshocton, Ohio and later moving to Akron, she graduated from Garfield High School and The University of Akron. She taught fifth grade in the Woodridge School system for 32 years before retiring in 1992. As a Delta Kappa Gamma member, she was a dedicated and outstanding teacher who cared deeply about her students and profession.

She was an avid bridge player, a consummate crossword puzzler, and devoted Grammy. She enjoyed traveling, casinos, and enthusiastically supporting her local sports teams.

Friends are invited to the Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Monday from 5 to 8 PM. Private interment will be at St. Mary's Markillie Cemetery in Hudson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association.
