Stow - Betty L. Lappin, 104, passed away April 30, 2026

Born in Belpre, OH, Betty was a resident of Stow and Kent since her birth year in 1922. After Betty married Harley Jr on March 15, 1944, together, they carried on the management and operation of the Lappin Farm and Greenhouse on Newcomer Rd for another 60 years until 2004. Over the 90 years Lappin’s Farm operated residents of Stow/Kent and surrounding communities enjoyed the eggs, chickens, turkeys, sweet corn, greenhouse tomatoes, celery, onions and flowers sold at the farm. Betty played a critical role in that success as she operated the farm market for 60 of those years.

Betty was a member of the First Christian Church of Stow for over 103 years. She served as the organist for several years. She enjoyed being a part of both the Stow and Kent Garden Clubs, playing the organ, shopping at Talbots and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband of almost 64 years, Harley G Lappin Jr; brothers Richard Cundiff, Robert Cundiff, she is survived by her sons, Don (Barbara), Dick (Becky), Harley III (Becky), Jeff Lappin; 10 grandchildren; Don Jr, Nicole, Mike, Chris, Richard, Nick, Michelle, Jeff Jr, Julianne and Maegan; 19 great-grandchildren; Lucian, Kyle, Hannah, Richard, Sofie, Leo, Max, Jimmy Ellianna, Kendall, Colten, Averie, Reese, Lennox, Drew, Kellen, Marley, Camden and Noa.

Dr. David Weyrick will officiate the funeral service 11 AM Friday, May 8, 2026, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, OH 44224. Friends may call 5 PM to 7 PM, Thursday, May 7, 2026, and 10 AM to service time Friday. Private burial will take place at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.
