GREEN- Billy James "BJ" Hutchison, 71, passed away May 2, 2018 at The Gables of Hudson, in Hudson, Ohio.
Born in Akron, Mr. Hutchison was a lifetime area resident and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. While serving his country, he was awarded Soldier of the Month for three consecutive months and received several commendations, including the Bronze Star. Mr. Hutchison was a founding member and past president of the Green Historical Society, a past president and Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Club of Akron, and a 32nd degree Mason. He was also a member of the Turkeyfoot Sportsman Club, American Legion Post 449, and VFW Post 3383.
Preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mary Jane Hutchison, he is survived by his children Byron (Brenda), Eric, Tamara, and William; the mother of their children, Susan; his brothers Herb (Cheryl), Ed (Pam), Bob, and Tom; niece Heather (Keith) Harned; and grandchildren Jordyn, Caleb, Bailey, and Connor. Mr. Hutchison's family would like to thank The Gables of Hudson, Cleveland Clinic/Akron General, Select/Edwin Shaw, and Harbor Light Hospice for their care and compassion.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. A private interment will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
