UNIONTOWN - Carol A. Allen, 73, passed away peacefully August 28, 2014.
Carol was born January 28, 1941 to Zolton and Delores Pelyhes in Ashtabula, OH. Throughout her life she was very active with Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in the Rosary and Altar Society, running the bingo program and a Girl Scout Troop Leader. Carol was known for her strong work ethic (working for State Farm Insurance for over 20 years), love for her family, especially her grandchildren who were the love of her life and her love for Las Vegas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Zolton and Delores; nephew Robert "Bobby" Pelyhes and many aunts and uncles.She is survived by husband, Edwin Allen; children Lori (Dale) Yoho, Diane (Kevin) Zorger, Jimmy Allen, Kim Garunovic and Patrick Allen; grandchildren Michelle, Nick, Johnny, Toni, Ryan, Michael, Ally, Erik, Zak and Abbey; four great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Ruth) Pelyhes; sister Jan (Darry) Largent; sister-in-law Mary Allen; many nieces and nephews and best friends Mary Louise (Steve) Mace.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Wednesday 5 to 8 PM. Mass of the Christian Burial Thursday 10 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, with Father James Singler celebrant. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 70 W Streetsboro Street, Suite 201, Hudson, Ohio 44236.
