Carol Diane Fox

STOW - Carol Diane (Olson) Fox, born September 28, 1949, in Frederic, Wisconsin, passed away on April 23, 2026. Her life was defined by compassion, family, and an unwavering commitment to helping children.

Carol pursued her passion for education and service early in life, earning her first undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, as she always wanted to be a teacher just like her mother and grandmother. She later expanded her calling into social work, completing a second undergraduate degree from The University of Akron and ultimately achieving her master’s degree from Case Western Reserve University.

Throughout her career, Carol touched countless lives. Her work at Summit County Children Services, along with her roles at The Village Network, The Bair Foundation, and Signature Health reflected her deep belief in helping other people. She was especially devoted to her work as a family therapist, where her empathy and insight made a lasting impact on the families she served.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Viola Olson, and her brother, Gordon Olson. She is survived by her husband, Ted R. Fox; her children, Michael Friberg (Shannon), Kathleen Stimmel (Daniel), and Rachel Fabick (Joe); her brother, Gary Olson (Kim); and her cherished grandchildren, Vivian, Vera, and Max, who brought her immense joy.

Calling hours will be Wednesday April 29th from 4-7 pm at Redmon Funeral home 3633 Darrow Rd, Stow OH 44224 with services at St. Stephen Lutheran Church 3725 Kent Rd, Stow OH 44224 on Thursday April 30th at 11 am. Memorials may be made to Summit County Children Services.
