Carol J. Shannon, 70, died February 11, 2013.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she had lived in Stow for many years prior to moving to Brimfield Twp. in 1990, and had been employed as an LPN with Akron Children's Hospital for 21 years, retiring in 1994. Carol's life revolved around her family, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
Preceded in death by her husbands, David Dorsett in 1966, Louis Shannon and sister Colleen McNamara, she is survived by daughters Jackie (George) Derbfuss, Joanne (Mike) Hartley and Joyce Shannon; grandchildren Hilliary (Mike) Bennett, Lindsay (B.J.) Klodt, Mallory, Aubrey and Ian Derbfuss, J.J. and James Zingale; great-grandchildren Jayce Bennett and Frankie Klodt, sister Patty McNamara, best friend of 42 years Barb Bestvina and family and former son-in-law John Zingale.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Friday from 4 to 7 PM. Mass of the Christian Burial Saturday10 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial Stow Cemetery.
