STOW – Carolyn A. Godbey, 84, died May 24, 2026.

A daughter of the late Worthy and Vercil Woofter, she was born in Gilmer County, WV, and was a resident of Stow most of her life. She retired from being a childcare provider, a career she loved. She was a woman of genuine kindness and generosity. She had a natural gift to nurture everyone she loved. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved hosting family gatherings, spending time with her family and traveling with her husband, children and extended family. Carolyn and Bill were inseparable from the time they met and were always up for any adventure.

Preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William Godbey, she is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Jeff) Bell, Stacey (Michael Brazelton) Godbey; son, Steven (Jessica) Godbey; granddaughter Leah Godbey.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6 PM Monday, June 15, 2026, at Silver Springs Lodge also known as Leona Farris Lodge in Silver Springs Park, 5027 Stow Rd, Stow, OH 44224. It will be a casual open house to honor her memory.
