CUYAHOGA FALLS - Carrol Ann York (Roe) passed away on December 27, 2025.

Born in New Castle, PA, on December 5, 1951, Carrol was a longtime resident of Cuyahoga Falls and worked for several years at the front desk of the Natatorium. She held a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre arts and set design. Carrol was also a member at Palyul Ohio Tibetan Buddhist Temple in Richfield.

Carrol found deep joy in nature and creativity. She especially loved volunteering in the Metro Parks and Cuyahoga Valley National Park where she was active in many of the programs. Alongside her love for the outdoors, Carrol also had a strong appreciation for theater and the arts and found meaning in creativity and conversation. Spending time with family and friends was especially meaningful to her, as she appreciated the sense of connection that came from discussions with others on most any topic. She loved being a teacher and mentor to her children and grandchildren and spent many hours with them on outdoor and indoor activities. She most of all loved to interact with people, and was often the last to leave any gathering, party, or celebration.

Carrol was a true matriarch of the family and with her innate empathy and kindness, she was forever the problem solver and peacekeeper in the family. Her sons knew that if they had a big problem, they should take it to dad; for everything else, talk to mom. She will be missed.

Carrol is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary Ann Kneram; daughter, Jaelah York and son, Judson York.

Carrol is survived by her husband of 48 years, David York; sons, Julian Rose (Emily), Jacob York (Lori), and Joshua York; stepchildren, Jennifer Richards (Michael) and Jesse York; brothers, Richard Kneram (Deborah), Mark Kneram (Cheyrl); several grandchildren, including, Aphrodita, Emersyn, Shelby, Hadley, and Sullivan, along with many cousins, nephews, nieces, and other extended family.

A memorial celebration of life will be held in the spring.
