Ceinwen (Connie) P. Vigar

STOW - Ceinwen "Connie" P. Vigar, 92 yrs. old, died February 1, 2016.

Born February 11, 1923 in Akron, she was a resident of the area, and retired from the Akron Board of Education in 1982 with 20 yrs. service. She was a member of The Chapel in University Park for over 20 yrs. and recently, of The Church in Silver Lake. Mom was a devoted Garfield graduate always serving on the reunion committee. She was also involved with the PTA and served as vp and president. She belonged to Firestone Park Mother's Singers and The Retired School Secretaries. Mom grew up playing many sports but at age forty she took up golf and became an avid golfer.

Mom was always very active and made many friends along the way. She was a friend to everyone as she always saw the good in people. She always had a smile on her face and love in her heart. She will be missed by many but especially her family.

Preceded in death by husband, George E. Vigar, grandson, Nathan Casenhiser, sister, Rae (Batman) Heiner, brother, William (Albie) Davies. She is survived by son, Edward M. (Roberta) Vigar, daughter, Teri-Ann (Paul) Casenhiser; grandchildren, Paula Kuder (Kevin); Janet (Craig) Haworth of Franklin, TN, David (Kristen) Vigar; great-grandchildren, Alexis Kruger, Zackary Kruger, Paige Kuder, Gavin Haworth, Lydia Haworth, Sophia Haworth, David Vigar II and Emma Vigar; sister, Mary Ereth, sisters-in-law, Wanda Vigar; Roberta Petersen, Ann Davies; and many nieces and nephews.

Pastor Mark Lile and Pastor Brad Jagger will conduct funeral services Saturday 11 AM at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends are invited for visitation Friday from 4 to 7 PM and Saturday from 10 AM until service time.
