STOW - Charlotte Barbara Haney, age 78, passed away peacefully and reunited with the love of her life, her husband, Gary Haney, who preceded her in death in October 2025.
Born on December 7, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio, Charlotte was the beloved daughter of the late John and Helen Dankulic. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Dankulic.
Charlotte attended John Marshall High School in Cleveland and later continued her education at Kent State University. She married Gary Haney, and together they shared 56 years of marriage, building a life centered on love, family, and unwavering devotion.
Known affectionately as “Char,” she was the kindest and most selfless person many had the privilege to know. As a devoted stay-at-home mother, she dedicated her life to caring for her family and ensuring that those around her felt loved and supported. Her greatest joy came from watching her family grow and celebrating the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.
Charlotte is survived by her loving sons, John Haney and Jason Haney; and her cherished grandchildren, Matthew Haney, Rachel Haney, and Ryan Haney.
Family was the center of Charlotte’s world. She treasured staying connected with her nieces, Allison, Alexis, and Kelly, and took great pride in maintaining close relationships with those she loved.
Charlotte was a passionate supporter of Cleveland sports teams and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on. She enjoyed country music and loved attending concerts. One of her favorite traditions was her annual vacation to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, a place that brought her peace, happiness, and many treasured memories.
Christmas was especially meaningful to Charlotte. The holiday reflected her generous spirit, as she found immense joy in giving to others and making the season special for her family. Her kindness, compassion, and unselfish nature defined her life and touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Her love, guidance, and gentle spirit will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 23rd from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Leona Farris Lodge (Silver Springs Lodge), located at 5027 Stow Rd. Stow, Ohio 44224. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Charlotte’s life, share memories, and celebrate the remarkable woman she was.
