Obituary

MUNROE FALLS – Chesta (Teddy) L. Kassinger, 74, passed away July 20, 2026.

Born in Akron, she was a resident of Munroe Falls since 1996. Chesta graduated from the nursing program at Choffin CTC and worked as a private duty LPN, retiring in 2010. Chesta loved her career in nursing, caring for others, and was a devout Christian.

Family and friends were central to Chesta’s life. Monthly family dinners for the whole extended family, the holiday parties for the women of the family, and shopping trips to Hartville with her mother, aunts, sisters, daughters, and grandchildren were some of her fondest memories. For recreation, she loved playing cards, especially canasta and euchre, camping with her family at Ridge Ranch, and the beloved lifelong friends she made there. Chesta also enjoyed animals, music, dancing, travelling, and shopping for furniture with her husband on their many trips. Above all she loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and being a babysitter / caregiver for her many nieces and nephews throughout her life.

Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Mareta Drongoski; and sister, Phyllis Ballou, she is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, William (Bill) R. Kassinger; daughters, Shannon (Mark) Johnson, Kimberly Gadd; grandchildren, Athena (Timothy) Horne, Zachary Patterson, Matthew Deutsch II, Beth (Sean) Johnson, Kenneth Johnson; and her 5 great-grandchildren, Edwin, Alex, Emmett, Lincoln, and Gwendolyn; brother, Kenneth (Patty) Farmer; sisters, Rita Zellefrow, Cathy Martinez, Cynthia (Ruben) Cardona, Mary Jean (Dean) Davis, and many nieces and nephews.
