Obituary

HUDSON – Alvin “Dale” Rogers Jr., 68, passed away peacefully in the presence of his wife and children on June 9, 2026.

He was born in Youngstown, raised in New Bedford, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Wilmington Area High School in 1975. He was a proud Penn State University alumnus, graduating in 1980 with a B.S. in Business Marketing. He worked in Atlanta, Georgia, Columbus, Ohio, and Arizona for Drug Emporium, leading projects from the ground up to help launch the rest of his career. He then settled in Hudson, Ohio in 1998, working for OfficeMax and JoAnn Fabrics as a buyer and Divisional Merchandise Manager. In 2004, he married Criss, forming a loving, blended family together with their three sons.

Dale enjoyed golf and loved to read. He was an avid fan of Penn State football (WE ARE!), Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins, and Cleveland “Indians” and Cavaliers. His strong faith in Jesus was the foundation of his life. He was an active member of Christ Community Chapel where he served as a deacon and Bible study leader for many years. He was a committed volunteer at Mobility Worldwide, a global faith-based and non-profit organization grounded by their vision of ending immobility in developing countries.

Preceded in death by parents, Alvin and Lavon Rogers; brother, Robert “Bob” Rogers, he is survived by his wife of 22 years, Criss Rogers (nee Dieter); sons, James (Ann MacNamara) Rogers, Sam (Emily Chumbler) Rogers; stepson, Logan List; granddaughters, Ada and Joan Rogers; and sister, Barb (George) Shaffer.

Friends may call on Sunday, June 14 from 3 to 5pm at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Rd, Stow, OH 44224. Pastor Mark Lyle will conduct service on Monday, June 15 at 4pm at Christ Community Chapel, 750 W. Streetsboro Street, Hudson, OH 44236.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Mobility Worldwide Ohio, 4381 Hudson Drive PMB #169, Stow, OH 44224 or at mwohio.org/donate
