Daneen L. Pitts

Daneen Pitts passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017, surrounded by her children, after a long, valiant, graceful battle. She was born June 24, 1936, in Berlin, Pennsylvania, to Robert and Charlotte Imhoff. She grew up in Akron, Ohio and graduated from South High School in 1954. She went on to graduate from Akron City Hospital Idabelle Firestone School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse at Akron City Hospital for over 20 years. She married her high school sweetheart on June 8,1957, and together they raised their family in Northampton, Ohio.
Her love for her family and her faith in the Lord was an example to everyone that was lucky enough to know her. Her kind, forgiving heart, her beautiful smile, her positive attitude, and her never-ending strength, guided her family through tough times and brought joy and inspiration to her children and her grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Ronald "Bill" Pitts, and an infant son, she leaves behind her children, Martin and Diane Pitts and Bruce Pitts of Tallmadge, and Lynn and Randy Downs of Cuyahoga Falls. Grandchildren, Bill and Renee Pitts, and Brian and Kate Downs. Great-grandson, Chase Pitts. Brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Dorothy Imhoff, sister-in-Law, Connie Pierce, and sister-in-law Cher (Rob) Muirhead. Many nieces and nephews and dear friends. A special thank you to Dawn, Jackie and Cindy for their love, care and friendship.
A memorial service will be held at Redmon Funeral home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 3 p.m. where friends are invited to call from 1 p.m. until service time. Pastor Jim Case officiating.
