David Mathews Donofrio

David Mathews Donofrio, 66, of Stow, formally of Youngstown, OH passed away on January 9, 2016.

David was born in Youngstown, OH to Barbara Ann Donofrio and Arthur Donofrio on December 17, 1949. He went to high school at Cardinal Mooney High School and graduated in 1968. He went on to earn a BSN in Nursing from the University of Akron, and his CRNA from St. Elizabeth's School of Anesthesia. He worked as a CRNA for 31 years.

David is survived by his wife, Gail (Gonzalez) of Stow, formally of Youngstown OH. He also leaves a son, David Michael Donofrio of Stow OH; and daughter, Emily Donofrio Cox (Nick) of Stow, OH. David is also survived by brother, Daniel Donofrio of Youngstown; sister, Teresa Donofrio Cavallaro (Charles) of St. Charles, Missouri; and his mother, Barbara Mathews Donofrio of Youngstown, OH. He leaves grandchildren, Jason Cox and Jennifer Cox, who were the joys of his life. David also leaves 6 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur Donofrio.

David will be missed greatly by his family.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to VNS Hospice of Summit County.

Pastor Matthew Skifstad will conduct a memorial service Tuesday at 7 PM at Redmon Funeral Home where friends may call from 5 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, Ohio 44333.
