CUYAHOGA FALLS - David A. Fretz, 74, passed away May 17, 2013.
Born in Baltimore, MD, David was a long-time resident of Cuyahoga Falls. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a graduate of The University of Akron and had retired from the City of Akron after 30 years of service, where he managed the Manpower Program with the Private Industry Council. David was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for 50 years; enjoyed gardening, traveling, ham radio and serving with the Boy Scouts. He was an American history enthusiast, particularly the Civil War, serving as an officer of the Tallmadge Civil War Society where he was a long-time member and writer of the society's newsletter.
Preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Marion; he is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret; daughter Susan (Philip) Goodin; grandchildren Johnathon and Jacob Goodin; son Daniel (Pam); brother Don (Jane) and nieces Jacqueline and Erica.
Friends are invited to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2141 Fifth Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, Tuesday, May 21, 2013 for an 11 AM memorial service to be conducted by Rev. Keith Johnson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church Building Fund.
