Donald J. Bettio

STOW - Donald J. Bettio, 79, died March 21, 2020.

Born in Cleveland, he was a Stow resident since 1969, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and member of the Marine Corps League Chesty Puller Detachment #269. As a Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune in 1959, he may have been exposed to water (chemical) contamination that occurred from 1953-1987 that possibly led to his recent demise.

Don was also a member of the Stow Republican Club and had been a bus driver for Hudson City Schools after his career in Law Enforcement.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Geraldine; daughter Lisa; sons William (Kim) and Joe; grandchildren Michael, Justin, Austin (Becca), Madison, Gabby, Rylee, Hayley and Lincoln; great-grandson Benjamin.

Private burial will be held and services for Don will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Ohio Living Hospice Foundation, 1001 Kingsmill Parkway, Columbus, Ohio 43229.
