Obituary of Donald Lee Shallahamer
Donald L. Shallahamer, 84, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2015.
Born in Cuyahoga Falls, he served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He loved bowling, westerns and was a huge college sports fan. He was a hardworking man who was very proud, and could fix anything. He owned and operated Don's Stow Marathon for 30 years.
He is survived by the beautiful love of his life of 57 years, Doris (Steele) Shallahamer; daughters Cheryl Genda, Becky Thompson (Carl, who recently passed away), and Amy Edwards DeGennaro (Ralph); sons Don Shallahamer (Norma) and Mike Bauder (Lisa); brothers Al (Sharon) and Kenny (Jackie); grandchildren Paul M. Genda, Lisa Genda, Jeremy Bauder, Tina Dunham (Lee), Amber Denker (Ben), Donald Shallahamer II, Tim Shallahamer and Michael Edwards; 5 great-grandchildren, Kiera, Tavin, Zack, Kieon and Xavier, all of whom loved hem very much, as well as many other family, friends and great neighbors. He was preceded in death by sisters Helen Nelson and Barbara Billings, and brother Russell Shallahamer.
Calling hours will be held at Redmon Funeral Home, Friday July 3 from 10 to 11:30 AM, where service will be conducted Friday 11:30 AM, with interment at Crown Hill Burial Park to include military honors provided by our U. S. Air Force. In lieu of flowers, Don requested donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
