LONDON - Donald Ray Watson Jr., 55, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Born on June 11, 1970, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Junior was a man of immense talent, steady patience, and a heart that belonged entirely to his family.
A skilled welder for many years, Junior was a true craftsman who worked with his hands a lot. He was the "family mechanic" who could fix anything with an engine and the "handyman" who knew how to repair every corner of a home. If something was broken, Junior was the one who brought it back to life. Junior was also an avid basketball player, a devoted father who would spend entire summer days on the court. His son, Alex, will forever cherish the memories of playing with his dad from sunup to sundown, fueled by Junior’s endless energy and his "do anything for anyone" spirit. He was the most patient and loving man, always putting the needs of others before his own and truly would do anything for anyone.
Junior is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia; his half-sister, Denise; and his brother, Dustin. He is survived by his father, Donald Watson Sr., and wife, Tracy Watson. He was a proud father to his son, Alex, and daughter-in-law, Paige. His greatest joy was found in his granddaughters, Gabriella and Gracie, who will forever carry his love with them. He also leaves behind his half-sister, Lori, and her husband, Jim; nieces, Olivia, Teresa, and Jessica; and nephew, Jonathan. Junior also leaves behind a large and loving extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins in Baton Rouge.
Memorial service will be held 6 PM Friday April 3, 2026, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, OH 44224. Friends may call 4 PM to service time Friday, at the funeral home.
Junior will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
