Obituary of Donna J. Stewart

STOW - Donna Jeanne Stewart was born in Columbus, Ohio March 23, 1927 and passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 12, 2017.

She was the middle child of five, born to Walter E. Wagner and Edith M. Walker. Donna was married for 53 years to her childhood neighbor and the love of her life, Paul E. Stewart. They moved to Elyria, Ohio in 1949 where they raised their family of five in a close family neighborhood. Donna worked for the Midview School System as a library assistant. Paul was the Business Manager for the Elyria School System. Upon retirement, they enjoyed their cottage in Port Clinton, Ohio and traveled extensively. Upon Paul's passing, Donna moved to Stow, Ohio where she made so many valued friendships. No one was a stranger to Donna. She made a point to know their name. She described her life in the Stow area as "having lived in heaven."

Donna is survived by her three children, Scott Stewart and Gary Stewart (Lisa) of North Carolina, and Paula Chess (Robert) of Hudson, Ohio. In addition, she is survived by six grandchildren, Tara Tozzi, Ashley Tozzi, Britni Tozzi and Michael Tozzi, all from the Cleveland, Ohio area. Kaiti Stewart and Connor Stewart reside in Charlotte, NC.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 21st at 10:30 AM at the Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road in Stow, 44224. In lieu of floral remembrances, donations can be made to Global Empathy Now.
