Dorothy A. Dawes, 85, born July 26, 1929 in Akron, died October 17, 2014.
Preceded in death by her husband Arthur S. Dawes, daughter Barbara Ann Cincurak, sisters Helen Sautner and Miriam Tropeano and brothers James and Jack Carter, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Patty Lynn and Ernie Williams of Stow; her grandsons Aaron (Alissa) and Nathan (Kristy) Williams and her special soon to be great-grandchild "baby girl Williams"; son-in-law Andrew Cincurak and grandsons Matthew and Mitchell Cincurak. Dorothy is also survived by her children, Patty Ann (Bob) Ficarra, (grandchildren Kristen and Denise and great-grandchildren Kalissa and Josh), Cathy (Ric) Amos (grandchildren Mandi and Rikki and great-grandchildren Chase, Andrew and Donovan), son Joe Dawes (grandson Joey); sister June Rice; brothers Dan (Doris) and Bruce (Kathryn) Carter; many nieces and nephews and her very special friend and companion Rascal.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Hospice Care Center for their compassion and care of Dorothy.
Rev. Chad Durfee will conduct service Wednesday 6:30 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4:00 PM until service time. Private burial Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, 3358 Ridgewood Rd, Akron 44333 or to the ASPCA (aspca.org/get-involved).
