Obituary of Dorothy A. Wiley




Dorothy "Dottie" Wiley, age 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 12, 2018.



Dorothy was born in Sunset, PA to the late Daniel and Ima Shumaker. At the age of five, they moved to Akron, where she became known to most as "Dottie." Dottie was the loving wife of James Wiley; loving mother of Rick Diefendorf (Madylen), Cheryl Cappadona (Michael), and Kenneth Diefendorf (Denise); beloved grandmother of eleven grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her step-son, Mark Wiley.



She was a great seamstress while raising her children and later in life, became very involved in the Stow community. Dottie was a member of the Community Church of Stowand loved playing cards and bingo. She very much enjoyed her time volunteering at the Blanket Tiers of Stow, Prayer Shawls, spaghetti dinners at Church, and the Tops group.



Pastor Jim Case will conduct service Friday 1 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends may call from 11 AM until service time. Burial Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in Dorothy's name to the American Cancer Society.
