Obituary of Douglas Estes

Douglas Estes, 88, died May 19, 2017.

Born in Akron, he attended Akron University and Kent State University, and was a longtime member of The Chapel, where he served as a Trustee. Doug had been employed at Goodyear Tire & Rubber for 20 years and as a vice-president at Summit Plastic before starting Belaire Products.

Preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Gertrude Estes, and his brother Jesse, Jr, and sister Mary Harpley, he is survived by Shirley, his wife of 65 years, nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held atThe Chapel,135 Fir Hill, Akron, Ohio 44304 on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 7 PM, where friends may call from 6 PM until service time. Private burial was held at Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Haven of Rest, 175 East Market Street, Akron, OH 44308.
