Obituary of Edith V. Thompson

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Edith V. Thompson, 96, passed away April 29, 2018.

Edith was born on a cold January day in 1922. She was the youngest of nine, born to Slovenian immigrants Michael and Ursula Ujcic, who were blessed to live in the beautiful mountain town of Davis, WV, a stones throw from Blackwater Falls National Park. During World War II, Edith met staff sergeant Thomas E. Thompson, who was with the U.S. Army Air Corps. They married in 1945 and shared 42 years together. They began a family and in 1952 moved to Ohio. Shortly thereafter Edith began her career with B.F. Goodrich, working in the accounting department.

Edith was preceded in death by husband Thomas "Tommy", her parents and all of her eight siblings. She is survived by two daughters Joyce Outzen and Janice (Gregg) Burgy; two grandchildren Sara Outzen and Ryan (Sandy) Burgy and two great-grandchildren Adeline and Alex Burgy.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
