Miss Eleanor E. Sample, 96, died June 20, 2018.

Born in Emeigh, PA, Eleanor graduated from Garfield High School and Akron City Hospital School of Nursing. She later earned her B.S. in Nursing from The University of Akron and retired from Akron General Medical Center. During her career, Miss Sample held several offices and was active in many professional nursing organizations.

Eleanor enjoyed hard work, baking, needlework and tending to her roses and yard. Along with her sisters, Martha and Margaret, she enjoyed traveling the world, and had visited all 50 states.

Preceded in death by her parents E.K. and Bess Sample; brothers Ralph, Charles and Ed; sisters Martha and Margaret Sample; nephews Don and Mike, and nieces Jo and Sue, she is survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Pastor Jerry Harpool will conduct service Monday 6 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4 PM until service time. Burial Tuesday 11 AM at Crown Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607 or Haven of Rest, 175 E. Market Street, Akon 44308.
