This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

STOW - Elfrieda “Frieda” Wilhelmiena Lytle (nee Brose), 94, died December 14, 2025.

Born in Buffalo, NY, she was a longtime Stow resident, had retired as a telephone operator and was a charter member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Tallmadge, where she taught Sunday school for many years.

Being involved and active was a passion of Frieda’s, and she did so in many ways, including working at the voting polls for over 30 years, as a member of Stow Sunshiners, associate member of Telecom Pioneers, member of UAW 420 Ford Retirees, 50 years of service to Acorn Branch of Foresters, member of Darrow Street Grange #751, and as former member of Rebekah Lodge and Evans Erie Grange #1332, both in Angola, New York.

Frieda also enjoyed Bible study, bowling, bingo, the All-American Soap Box Derby and visiting with shut-ins. She especially loved spending time with her friends at Silver Lake Towers and playing summer sports (bocce, shuffleboard, horseshoes, and corn hole).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane; her parents, Herman and Agnes; brothers, Art and Al; daughter-in-law, Sue, sister-in-law, Peggy; brother-in-law, Ed, and special companion, Bill.

Frieda is survived by her daughter, Lynda (Curt); son, Lee; grandchildren, Jessica, Michael, Liana and Abri; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Hayden, Kelly, Pierce, Rory, Bubby, Aralynn and Owen; sister, Louise; sister-in-law, Fran, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 11:30 AM, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 158 North Avenue, Tallmadge 44278, where friends may call from 9:30 AM, until time of service.

Private burial Stow Cemetery.

The family would request no flowers, rather a memorial gift to St. Mark Lutheran Church in memory of Frieda.
