Elizabeth Stow Green Cowles born October 8, 1913 passed away peacefully on April 17, 2013. She lived her entire life in Stow, a town founded by her ancestors. She graduated from Stow High School in 1931 and Kent State College in 1935.
Lib was married to Austin Hughes Cowles for 56 years and is survived by her children Kathryn of Medina County, Kenneth of Louisville, KY and James (Patricia) of Bakersville, CA, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Martha Green of Chiefland, FL, and many nieces and nephews.
As Grand Marshall of the July 4th parade she was recognized by the community she loved. Her church, First Christian Church of Stow, honored her by naming her an Elder Emeritus.
A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church of Stow, 3493 Darrow Road, Stow, on April 27, 2013 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Christian Church of Stow or the charity of your choice.
