Ellen W. Lovell

MUNROE FALLS - Ellen W. Lovell, 79 passed away April 18, 2016.

Born in Syracuse, NY, Ellen graduated from University of Michigan High School in Ann Arbor, MI and from The University of Akron with a Bachelor Degree in Secretarial Science. Ellen retired from the Summit County Board of Developmental Disabilities as an Administrative Assistant after more than 30 years of service.

Ellen was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church since 1961, enjoyed playing bridge, obsessively followed the stock market, was perpetually tormented as a Cleveland sports fan, and was a proud fan of "The" University of Michigan. She was also active in local charities including the United Way of Summit County.

Ellen was an avid tennis player, playing 2 to 3 times weekly until this past December. Ellen will be buried with her tennis racket and tennis balls so that she can continue "serving" in heaven.

Preceded in death by her parents, Parker and Mary Alice Ward, she is survived by her husband of 60 years, John A. Lovell; children, Andrew T. Lovell, Patricia E. (Bill) Stieger, John A. (Patty) Lovell II, Steven M. Lovell, Amy E. Lovell, Colin P. Lovell; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Horace, Peter, Parker, Patricia Armstrong, Mimi Middlebrook, Michael, and Katrina Hope.

Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Wednesday, April 20 from 5 to 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church on Thursday at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
