HUDSON - Francis (Frank) Langdon Spring, 80, passed away September 22, 2025.

Born in Boston, MA, to the late Arthur Langdon and Esther Kelley Spring. Frank graduated from Dartmouth College in 1967 and began his career in varied capacities of public relations for both corporate and non-profit organizations. It was one of these positions that brought him to the Cleveland area in 1972 where he met his wife. As Frank said, “Once I moved to Cleveland and met the woman I was going to marry, I never thought of leaving.”

After retirement, Frank volunteered for several organizations in the area, and because he loved to read, he also went to work part-time in a book store.

Frank enjoyed music. He played guitar by ear and listened to a variety of music - mostly early rock 'n' roll and jazz. He enjoyed being on the water. He liked to kayak, but loved sailing. Frank "single handed" sailed along the shores of Lake Erie for almost 35 years. He and his wife shared their interest of being near the water and spent many years cruising in the Caribbean, off both U.S. coasts and in intercoastal areas.

His interest in cars took him to car races of varying types as a fan, and extended to the opportunity to work, (volunteer), as a timer at Indy Car and CART local races. He followed Formula 1 international car racing almost religiously - his Sunday schedule would be put on hold when one was televised.

After retirement, he and his wife moved to Laurel Lake and Frank became very active within the community. Frank was known as a quiet, sincere, and thoughtful person. And whenever people would ask who the woman with him was, his response was always, “She is my FIRST and ONLY wife, and I love her with my whole heart."

He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Margaret (Pegg) Graff Spring; his sister-in-law, Renetta Graff, SND, and the many friends he has made at Laurel Lake.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to either Laurel Lake Foundation, 200 Laurel Lake Drive, Hudson, OH 44235 or Northeast Ohio Hospice, 10204 Granger Road, Garfield Heights, OH 44125.
