MUNROE FALLS - Fred F. Stewart, 84, passed away peacefully with his wife holding his hand on November 11, 2025.
He was born in Akron and was a resident of Stow and Munroe Falls since 1968. Fred proudly served in the United States Navy from 1961 through 1965, as a 2nd class Petty Officer. Fred had been employed with BF Goodrich as an industrial electrician, retiring in 2004, and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Fred enjoyed all of his grandchildren's activities, from sports to dance recitals. Fred loved his crossword puzzles, collected books, loved going to the flea markets and was a sports fanatic. He loved Ohio State, Cleveland sports teams and NASCAR.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Bertha, and his in-laws, Milton and Mary Baer. He is survived by his wife of 59 1/2 years, Eva Marie “Mikey”; son, Scott, and his children, Alyssa, Zachary and Kayla; son, Darrell, and his wife, Krista, and their children, Lora (Brent) and Amanda (Josh), and his two pride and joy great-grandchildren, Teddy and Scarlett, and a baby boy due in March 2026; his daughter, Teri, and her husband, James, and children, Bradley, Andrew and Leah; his sister, Barbara (Don Schultz) Bobbitt; his in-laws, Kathy and Roger Chappell, Tim Baer and Don and Rhea Baer; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his friend of over 50 years, “Buzz."
Friends and family may call at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224, on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Road, Stow 44224, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 10:30 AM.
His final resting place will be Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
