WADSWORTH - Gary Austin Redford, Sr., met his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 17, 2025.
Born in Florence, Alabama, Gary later moved with his family to Stow, Ohio, where he attended Stow High School. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, honored to serve his country and protect the Christian values he held dear.
Gary worked as a skilled diesel mechanic with Consolidated Freightways from 1974 until his retirement in 2002. Known for his hard work, dedication, and quiet strength, he was deeply loved by his family and friends.
Gary found joy in spreading the love of Jesus, working on cars, singing karaoke, and shooting pool. He had a generous heart, a kind spirit, and a wonderful sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Garnett and Maggie Redford; his wives, Sherry Layne and Kimberly Marshine; his sisters, Linda Brady and Cathelene Redford; and his brothers, Terry, Lamar, Wayne, Travis, and Joseph Redford.
He is survived by his sister, Francis Redford-Gray; children, Wendy (Tim) Weems, Megan (Dominic) Busi, Malia (Benji) Barnes, and Gary D. Redford, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and friends who will cherish his memory.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 2 - 4 PM, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224, where Pastor Brad Bennett will conduct the funeral service at 10 AM, on Saturday, September 20, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 PM, at the VFW of Stow, 3733 Fishcreek Road, Stow, OH 44224, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor Gary’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in honor of Gary, an organization that was very dear to his heart.
