STOW - Helen P. Rajiah, 87, entered into eternal rest on December 7, 2025.
Born on June 1, 1938, in Madras, India, Helen majored in economics and was poised for a career in finance. Instead, she chose a life devoted to her husband, children, and extended family - an act of love and selflessness that defined her life. She immigrated to the United States with her family in 1970 and made her home in Stow, Ohio. A woman of deep Christian faith, Helen was a devoted member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church since 1974.
Helen found joy in simple and generous acts - tending her garden, preparing meals with love, and caring for those around her. She was the heart of her family. Above all else, she cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Those who knew Helen will remember her for her gentle spirit and unwavering kindness. She was patient, compassionate, humble, and gracious - always thinking of others first. Her presence brought comfort, her words brought peace, and her love was felt by all who were fortunate to know her.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Nasamani Asirvatham; brother, Nelson, and sister, Ramani. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Dr. Sam Rajiah; children, Shanthi (Matt) Rubin, James (Connie) Rajiah, and Rajini (Gary) Poth; grandchildren, Rachel (Ross) Fowler, Austin (Laura) Poth, Danielle Rubin (Teddy Zamborsky), Jordan Rajiah (Phuong Tran), Sarina (Andrew) Jarvi, Samantha Rajiah, Aaron Poth (Aniston Watts), Alex Lau, and Carly Lau; great-grandchildren, Henry Poth and Sienna Fowler, as well as and many beloved nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
