Obituary of Ida Leo Caprez

Lee Caprez, 99, of Jackson Township, Massillon, OH went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 6th, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Otto and Mary Elizabeth (Rader) Duncan; her brothers Frank, Ray, Bob, Charlie, Paris, JW (June), Denver, and Fred; sisters Gertie, Bertie (Gammons), and Maudie (Hamrick); her husbands George Jacob Doss McAmis, and John Alphonse Caprez; daughters Nema and Elizabeth McAmis; son-in-law Gordon Gentzler; and granddaughters Diana McAmis and Lisa Shafer. She is survived by her children Ann (Glenn) Trowbridge, Drexal (Kay) McAmis, Rita Gentzler, John (Kay) McAmis, step-children Judy (Ray) Erlenbach, Chris and Paul Caprez, 11 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 9 step great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Lee was born and raised on a farm in Afton on the outskirts of Greeneville, TN. She met her first husband "Doss" in Tennessee and they moved to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio in the early 1940's. They had six children. Lee and her family enjoyed spending summer vacations with relatives in Tennessee. As a family, they shared a love of music, singing and playing instruments. She worked numerous jobs, while attending Business College, and graduated at the top of her class. After marrying her second husband John Caprez, they moved to Jackson Twp. Lee and John traveled extensively throughout the world. They were members of The Swiss Club in Akron, with whom they traveled to Switzerland multiple times. Lee retired from Consolidated Freightways, where she was a bookkeeper. Gardening, cooking, sewing, playing tennis, and dancing were some of her favorite activities. She loved her Lord and Savior and strived to live for Him. Lee was a member of Stow Alliance Fellowship for over fifty years. Her greatest joy was her family.
Calling hours will be Monday, September 11, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Rd, Stow 44224. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 12th at 2:30 PM at Stow Alliance Fellowship, 4460 Stow Rd, Stow 44224. Family and friends may arrive for calling hours at 2 PM Interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
