Obituary of James F. Greer, Jr.



CUYAHOGA FALLS - James F. Greer, Jr., 87, died August 16, 2016.
Born in Akron, he was a former Stow resident, a past member of Holy Family Catholic Church and had lived in Cuyahoga Falls for the last 20 years. A US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a member of the National Guard for 23 years. Mr. Greer retired from Goodyear Aerospace in 1987 after 35 years service. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed driving bus for Walsh Jesuit High School.
Preceded in death by his first wife Mary and son Mike Greer (Faith Greer), he is survived by his wife of 26 years, Ora; children Jeanne Markley, Patrick (Joann) Greer, Kevin (Laurie) Greer, Sue (Greg) Ross, Paula Grady, Julie (Lewis) Gray; step-children Rhonda Butler, Kelly (Cyndi) Newsome and Kim (Tim) Holcomb; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Iona VanNess, Juanita Gardner and Ruth (Tex) Eskew; numerous nieces and nephews and special friend Xyler.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Thursday 5 to 8 PM, where service will be held Friday 11 AM, with the United States Army providing military honors. Private burial St. Sylvester's Cemetery in Woodsfield, OH. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Ohio Veterans Assoc.
