Mann
Aug 27, 1939 — Oct 4, 2026
Hudson
HUDSON - James “Terry” Mann, 87, of Hudson, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026. He was born on August 27, 1939, in Woodsfield, Ohio, and lived a life defined by dedication to his family, his career, his country, and his faith.
Terry was a graduate of Ohio University and built a distinguished career in the petroleum industry, working as a chemist for Gulf Oil, British Petroleum, and Lubrizol Corp. His professional life reflected his intelligence, determination, and commitment to excellence.
A proud member of the United States Navy, Terry retired as a Captain, carrying with him a deep sense of duty and service that remained an important part of who he was throughout his life.
Terry was a man of strong character and a true type-A personality. He was driven, organized, and accomplished, but beneath that determination was a kind and generous heart. He was always willing to lend a hand, offer advice, or help someone in need. Those who knew him will remember not only what he accomplished, but also the many ways he made a difference in the lives of others.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly fishing and fly-fishing, and cherished the quiet moments those activities provided. His Christian faith was also an important part of his life and values.
Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Lois “Susie” Mann; his children, Jennifer Highberger, Jeff Mann, and Kelly Mamajek; and his grandchildren, Adam, Aaron, and Tyler Highberger; Benjamin, Thomas, and Megan Mann; and Paige and Mason Mamajek. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Wesley Highberger, who brought him great joy.
Terry leaves behind a legacy of service, hard work, family devotion, and kindness. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
His memory will live on in the lives of those he loved the people he helped, and the example he set.
A private service will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers please make a donation in his memory to Wounded Warrior Project.
