STOW - James D. Placko, 72, died June 6, 2017.
Born in Cleveland, he was a Stow resident over 40 years, a Kent State University graduate, and a U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran. James was a3rd Degree Knight and past Grand Knight of the Father Maruskin Council in Stow and a 4th Degree Sir Knight of the Victor J. Paul Assembly in Cuyahoga Falls. He was alsoa longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was active in numerous prayer groups.
He is survived by his dear friend and companion Suzanne Placko. James was a devoted father to son Matthew (Courtney) Placko; daughters Stefanie Haines and Devon Warren; a loving Papa to Fletcher, Harlow and Briar Placko, Samuel, Stella and Silas Haines, Liliana, Griffin, Annalise and Kellen Warren; brother to David (Marie) Placko and Janice (Art) Oleksiak. James has countless nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. He was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed by so many.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Monday 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM. A Rosary service will be held at 8:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday 10 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will be held at Silver Springs Cemetery in Stow with military honors.Luncheon to immediately follow. All are welcome to join in celebration of his life and love.
