Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, she was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Esther Sholeen; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Alice Sholeen, Carl and Lucy Sholeen, and her twin brother, John Sholeen.

Jane is survived by her children, Mark (Wendy) Copeland, Susie (Terry) Lilley, Carl (Lauren) Copeland, Sarah Copeland, and Sheryl (Craig) West. She was an extraordinary grandma and great grandma to Michael (Kayla) Lilley, Daniel Lilley, Aryn Copeland, Taylor Copeland, Jordan West, Brooke (Nate Powers) West, Zachary (Sarah) West, and Logan West, along with great-grandchildren, Brody, Hogle, and Taya West. Jane was a dedicated member of the Stow United Methodist Church. She was active in ministry leadership, lay speakers, and other activities through which she could share her faith and encouragement with others.

Jane was an exceptionally gifted and giving person who spread joy and kindness everywhere she went, even in her final days at her Chapel Hill Community home. She shared hugs, laughter, and compliments liberally with the staff who adored her gentle and grateful spirit.

The family would like to thank all the special people in her life who cared for her, including Bob and Carol Wickland, Dan and Lynn Steffey, Terry and Judy Jagger, Laura Root, all of her in-home health aides who assisted her over the years, as well as Crossroads Hospice. We would also like to thank the staff at Chapel Hill Community who cared for her like family.

Jane touched the lives of so many people throughout her life and ministry. She will be revered and missed by all whose lives were impacted by her warmth and caring regard.
