Jane Gay Sahr

KENT - Jane Gay Sahr, 82, an artist, passed away on April 28, 2026.

Jane kept hope and bravery in her heart. She faced adversity. She brought determination and sometimes rage and sometimes joy. She loved fantasy and imagination. She loved to create -- paintings, woodworking, quilts, dolls, and stories. She didn't love singing, I think, though she happened to be quite talented. She loved her family and her friends and most dogs. She was a fierce lover of Jesus.

Jane was born in Stamford Connecticut on November 20, 1943 to Gwendolyn Gay Pruett and George O. Pruett. Jane grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, with her father, her step mother Bette Burke Pruett, her two brothers Peter B. Pruett and James K. Pruett, and her sister Pamela B. Bittner.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Sahr, her son Christopher A. Sahr, her father George O. Pruett, and her mother Gwendolyn Gay Pruett. Jane is survived by two sons Timothy A. Sahr and Matthew A. Sahr, three daughters-in-law, Ann J. Sahr, Michelle L. Sahr, Sarah K. Sahr, six grandchildren, Kailyn M. Campbell, Michael C. Sahr, Hannah J. Sahr, Megan E. Sahr, Nathaniel A. Sahr, and Abigail D. Sahr, her sister Pamela B. Bittner, and her brothers Peter B. Pruett and James K. Pruett.

A memorial service will be held at Redmon Funeral Home 3633 Darrow Rd, Stow OH 44224 on Saturday, May 2, at 3:30PM.
