STOW - We are extremely saddened to announce that Janet Lee Harris, 68, passed away unexpectedly on August 10, 2025.
Born in Cuyahoga Falls, she was a resident of Stow since 2003. Janet followed in her mother’s footsteps with pursuing a career as a registered nurse, having been employed by the Cleveland Clinic and later, Summa Health System, before retiring in 2016.
She was an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Her great-grandfather laid the cornerstone for the church and the family sponsored a stained-glass window there. Janet enjoyed cooking, listening to music, trips to the North Carolina beach with her cherished husband, Mike, and especially sharing time with her family.
Preceded in death by her parents, James and Jane Starcher; sister, Joan Starcher and nephew, James Schmall, she is survived by her husband, Mike Harris; sisters, Judy (Richard) Dell’Aquila (her twin), and Jill (Mike) Schmall; her niece, Jessica Dell’Aquila (John D. Hackman) and her three-year old grand-niece, Josie Hackman, who she loved so much.
Janet will be remembered and held always in the hearts of her friends and family for her kind and generous soul and her optimistic demeanor, as well as her stunning red hair and green eyes. Always ready with a kind word and helping hand, Janet was the light of family gatherings and a source of good counsel for the younger members.
Holding in our hearts the assurance that Janet has rejoined those who predeceased her in returning to the loving arms of our Lord, we are also appreciative to announce that the Reverend Alan Cowart will conduct services at 7 PM, on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, OH 44224, where friends may call from 5 PM, until service time.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Summit County, 752 West Portage Trail, Akron, OH 44313.
