Jesse Eugene Spragg

STOW - Jesse Eugene Spragg (Gene), 85, died November 6, 2014. Born in Colerain Twp., Ohio, on November 7, 1928, he was a 1946 graduate of Martins Ferry High School. He served as an Airman in the U.S. Navy from 1946-1948, and was stationed in Maryland, Texas, and Florida. He received an honorable discharge from the Navy in 1948. He retired from Terex, Division of General Motors, in 1983 after 30 years of service as District Service Representative. He was an avid reader, completing a book or two per week, and took pride in his vegetable garden and lawn. He was a hard-working man with integrity and wisdom.
Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Hazel Spragg, and brother, Ray Spragg, he is survived by his wife, Linda Spragg, and four step-children, Craig (Ute) Fischer, Debi (Bill) Hallaver, Rob Meyers, and Laurie Best; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Pastor David Klein will conduct service Monday 10:30 AM at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends may callSunday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 PM, and Monday from 10 AM until service time. Burial Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Summa at Home Hospice. A special thank you to his hospice nurse, Meg Heideman.
