CUYAHOGA FALLS - Joanne M. Ricci (Michalec), 90, ended her earthly journey and was welcomed into Heaven by Jesus and His Mother on May 9, 2025.
Joanne was born in Akron, Ohio to the late Albert and Eva (Boczek) Michalec. She grew up in North Hill, attending school at St. Martha's, Jennings, and North High School. She started her career at the Akron Juvenile Court before taking a job in the purchasing department at Roadway Express, where she retired after 29 years. She was a longtime member of St. Eugene Catholic Church. Mom was an avid prayer warrior for family, friends, and even for those she did not know. Family was important to mom, and she took pride and joy in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.
Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Michael T. Ricci; sister, Alberta (Michalec) Reger, and brother-in-law, Paul Sommer. She is survived by her children; Kim (David) Griffin and Greg (Lisa) Ricci; grandchildren, Tyler, Anthony (Celeste), and Olivia Ricci; great-grandson, Luca; sister, Margaret (Michalec) Sommer; nephew, Erich Sommer, as well as niece, Alyssa (John) Piotrowski.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224, for visitation on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 2 to 4 PM.
Father Pete Colletti will conduct Mass of the Christian Burial at 11 AM, on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 1821 Munroe Falls Avenue, Cuyahoga Falls 44221, where friends may call from 10 AM until the time of the Mass.
Interment Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
