John Joseph Bokar

STOW – John J. Bokar, 81, passed away March 21, 2026.

Born in Cleveland, he was a resident of Stow since 1997, and a U.S. Navy veteran. John had been employed with Maple Heights Fire Department as a firefighter, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing and golf.

Preceded in death by parents, John and Ruth Bokar; sister, Janis, he is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Bokar; daughter, Debbie Bokar; son, Rob (Diane) Bokar; grandchildren, Samantha, A.J., Alexander, Samuel, Mark, Seraphim, Robert; great-grandchildren, Alexus, Bryson; brother, James (Marie) Bokar; sister, Donna (Thomas) Brown.

Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Road, Stow, OH 44224. Friends may call from 4 PM to 7 PM Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, OH 44224. Interment All Saints Cemetery in Northfield.
