John Ronald
Stallings
Aug 29, 1934 — Oct 28, 2026
Munroe Falls, Ohio – John Ronald Stallings, 92, passed peacefully into eternal life on October 28, 2026, reuniting with his beloved wife, Betty, in Heaven.
Born on August 29, 1934, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ron grew up in Hopewell Township, a hardworking steel mill town that helped shape his strong values, determination, and work ethic. Aspiring to create opportunities beyond his hometown, he earned admission to the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he met the love of his life, Betty Jean Robertson. The two married while Ron completed his degree in Civil Engineering. During his time at Georgia Tech, Ron was an active member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. His pride in and dedication to Georgia Tech remained strong throughout his life as a loyal alumnus and supporter.
Following graduation, Ron briefly served in the Army Reserves while working at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Virginia. He then joined The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio, where he had previously interned as a college student. Over a distinguished career spanning more than 40 years, Ron served with dedication and professionalism before retiring from Goodyear.
Together, Ron and Betty built a wonderful life and raised their family in Cuyahoga Falls and Munroe Falls. Retirement provided Ron with an opportunity to continue serving others. Drawing upon his engineering expertise, leadership abilities, and passion for mentoring, he volunteered with the Akron Chapter of SCORE, helping aspiring entrepreneurs start, grow, and sustain successful businesses. During his more than ten years of service, Ron became Chapter President and contributed several business articles to the Akron Beacon Journal.
A devoted member of Saint Eugene Catholic Church, Ron played an important role in planning the construction of the parish's new church building and its later social hall expansion. He also faithfully served as an usher and lay minister. His deep faith and commitment to his parish community were central to his life.
Ron enjoyed many of life's simple pleasures. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast who cheered faithfully for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Guardians. He appreciated good food, a fine glass of wine or sangria, and took great pride in maintaining his yard. Above all, however, Ron cherished his family. Nothing made him happier than gathering loved ones together around a table filled with food, laughter, and conversation.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Helen Stallings, and by his beloved wife, Betty Stallings.
He is survived by his four children, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; Children - Janet Hudak (Mark), Steve Stallings (Celeste), Pam Fjelstad (Paul), and Sharon Hendershot (Tim) Grandchildren- Ryan Hudak; Brennan Hudak (Amanda); Shawna Jordan (Josh); Corey Stallings; Carly Kinsinger (Jack); Jack Hendershot; and Trevor Hendershot.
