HUDSON - Joseph (Joe) W. Martis, Jr., 77, died June 25, 2025.

Born and raised in Cleveland, he was a resident of Stow for 33 years and of Hudson since 2014. Joe graduated from St. John Cantius High School in 1966 and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from Cleveland State University, graduating in 1971. After college, he taught social studies for a few years before moving into a sales position with companies including Hudson Business Forms and Visual Arts. Joe was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Stow. He enjoyed history, reading, and watching Cleveland sports teams, especially the Cleveland Browns.

Preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Patricia A. (Riedel) Martis; parents, Joseph W., Sr. and Marie Martis, and sister, Marlene Taylor, he is survived by his daughters, Melissa (David) McClelland, Elizabeth (Michael) Hradesky; grandchildren, Morgan and Andrew McClelland and Benjamin, Matthew and Celia Hradesky; sister, Dolores Bailey; brother-in-law, Walter J. Riedel; sisters-in-law, Jean Demkowicz, Donna (Eric) Bokhari, and several nieces and nephews.

On behalf of the Martis family, a special thanks to all of the Laurel Lake community for the kindness, loving care, and friendship so freely given to our father and grandfather.

Calling hours will be held Monday, June 30, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 10:30 AM, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Road, Stow 44224. Interment Sunset Cemetery, 6265 Columbia Road, North Olmsted 44070.
