Josephine T. Emerick (Canitia) went home to be with the Lord, January 13th 2018, in Akron, Ohio.

She was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Gaetano and Josephine Canitia on July 1, 1940. She was the youngest of ten siblings.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years William P. Emerick. Together they raised four daughters Alice (Jeff) Sanders, Linda (Bryon) Hort, Donna (Mathew) Plesz, and Michelle (Ed) Pawlak. She has twelve grandchildren: Joshua (Nancy), Jeremy and Celeste Pawlak; Jessica and Corey Plesz; Rachel (Forest) Blair, Jon (Claudia) Hort, and Anna Hort; Erik, David, Nathan and Abigail Sanders. She also has three great-grandsons: Aiden Blair, Elliot Hort, and Calvin Pawlak.

She loved to cook, shop, garden and travel. She attended Broadman Baptist Church where she served.
