STOW - Karen Sue McCrady, 86, passed away on November 25, 2025.
Born on November 12, 1939, in Akron, Ohio, Karen was the daughter of the late William and Donna Miller. She graduated from Coventry High School in 1957, where she proudly served as a majorette in the marching band. That same year, she married the love of her life, James (Jim) McCrady. Together, they spent two years in Germany while Jim served in the U.S. Army - an experience Karen reflected on with great fondness throughout her life.
Karen made her home in Stow beginning in 1962, and remained in the house she cherished until her passing. She retired from the Kroger Company and later attended the University of Akron, earning a degree in Sales and Marketing in 1987. She concluded her career at the Village Green in Hudson, where she took great joy in her work as a sales associate and consultant.
A devoted mother of four children born within five busy years, Karen dedicated her life to her family, their well-being, and their happiness. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Karen was also a talented artist who enjoyed painting, antiquing, thrift-store “treasure hunting,” and rock collecting. A loyal Cleveland sports fan, she followed her teams with enthusiasm.
Karen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James McCrady; her brother, Jerry (Sue) Miller, and her parents, William and Donna Miller.
She is survived by her children, Tim (Rima) McCrady and their daughters, Amanda (Nick) and Taylor (Alexei), Scott McCrady and his son, Alec, Michael (Zack Jewell) McCrady, and Brian (Lori) McCrady and their children, Madison and Travis. She also leaves behind her brothers, Bill (Phyllis) Miller and Robert (Mary Jo) Miller, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her greatly.
A funeral service will be held at 3 PM, on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1PM, until the time of the service.
