Obituary of Karla Kay Hennigin

Karla Hennigin, age 77, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017.

Karla was the daughter of Carl and Wavil Vick and was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on March 10, 1940. She was preceded in death by her sister, Violetta, and husband of 49 years, William Hennigin. Karla leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Craig Feldman of Stow; granddaughter Olivia Feldman of Michigan; grandson, Jacob Feldman of Stow; and sister, Glenda Vick of Tampa, Florida. Karla also leaves behind many dearly loved nephews and nieces and many treasured friends.

Karla earned her nursing degree in 1976 and began work in Murray Calloway County Hospital's labor, delivery and newborn nursery, serving there for five years. After moving to Cuyahoga Falls, Karla began work at Akron Clinic and ended her career with retirement in 2005 from Summit Adult Medicine. Karla enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her family. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and attended the North Canton Church of Christ.

Karla's family would like to thank Dr. Owusu, Kris, the dedicated team at the Allen Road Infusion Center, and hospice caregivers, Norma and Jen. Your kindness and caring made such a difference and the family is very grateful. A special note of gratitude to her sister Glenda who was a constant source of love and support and was there until her final breath.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from noon to 2 PM with a celebration of life beginning at 2 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Potters Children's Home, 2350 Nashville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42101.
